Kenya Revenue Authority has launched a new app that will help citizens in accessing the KRA services.
The app will ease compliance with the taxpayers.
KRA branded the KRA M-Service App that will enable taxpayers to access assorted services.
Through the app, taxpayers will be able to register, pay, and file tax returns for Monthly Rental Income (MRI) and Turnover Tax (TOT) obligations.
The app will widen taxpayer reach, increase revenue collection, and enhance tax compliance by making the tax payment process more convenient.
It will also reduce the cost of compliance by removing intermediaries.
App Access
Taxpayers will access the app using a smartphone. They will go either to Google play store or app store and install the app.
Users with no PIN will be required to first register. Those already with PINs can register on the app then, login in and choose the particular services they need.
KRA is betting on the innovation to expand the tax base by on boarding the broad informal sector.
The introduction of the service further enhances remote operations while anchoring a platform to address e-commerce transactions.
