Sasini Avocado EPZ Limited, a subsidiary of Sasini PLC, has announced a tender for the sale of its avocado processing and packaging plant located at Sameer Industrial Park in Nairobi.
The facility was installed and commissioned in 2021 and is relatively new and ready for immediate commercial use.
The company said the plant is suitable for firms seeking to enter or expand within Kenya’s growing avocado export value chain.
According to the tender notice, the plant features a four-lane Eshet Eilon avocado packing line with a processing capacity of up to eight tonnes per hour, designed for high-volume operations.
“Sasini Avocado EPZ Limited, a subsidiary of Sasini PLC, invites sealed tenders from eligible and qualified bidders for the Purchase of a Modern Avocado Processing and Packing Plant located at Sameer Industrial Park, Road C, Industrial Area, Nairobi City County. The facility enjoys excellent access to Mombasa Road, export handling, and distribution,” read part of the statement.

The plant also includes a cold storage unit measuring approximately 13 by 10 by 4 meters, equipped with full refrigeration systems and the capacity to hold up to four export containers simultaneously.
The sale will be conducted on an “as-is, where-is” basis, either as a going concern or through asset acquisition.
Prospective bidders are required to inspect the facility in person before submitting their bids, as no warranties or representations will be provided.
Interested parties can arrange site visits through the procurement office during working hours on weekdays.
Further, tender documents are available upon payment of a non-refundable fee of KSh5,000.
Completed bids must be submitted in sealed envelopes and delivered to the company’s registered office in Westlands, Nairobi, or sent via post.
The tender closes on May 8, 2026, at 5:00 p.m., and late submissions will be rejected.
Sasini noted that it reserves the right to accept or reject any bid without giving reasons, adding that applicable duties and taxes will depend on the mode of purchase.

Sasini Posts KSh188 Million Profit
Sasini PLC posted a profit after tax of KSh188.01 million for the year ended September 30, 2025, marking a turnaround from a loss of KSh562.86 million recorded in the previous year.
The profit comprised KSh177.32 million from continuing operations and KSh10.69 million from discontinued operations.
According to the company, the improved performance was supported by an operating profit of KSh35.53 million, compared with a loss of KSh374.9 million in 2024, and by strong interest income from investments, which stood at KSh61.43 million.
The Avocado Processing Business recorded a loss during the year ended, weighed down by external logistical challenges.
The disruption was linked to prolonged shipping times and rising costs following geopolitical tensions in the Red Sea, which led to the closure of key routes and limited access to European markets.

Shareholding Structure
As of September 30, 2025, the top ten shareholders together control 87.04% of the company’s total shareholding.
Legend Investments Limited is the largest shareholder, holding 41.84% of the company.
It is followed by Yana Towers Limited with 13.25%, East Africa Batteries Limited at 11.02%, and Ismail Gulamali with 7.92%.
Tropical Veterinary Services Limited holds 4.57%, while NIC Custodial Services A/C 077 accounts for 4.35%.
Jamal Karim owns 2.01%, Joseph Schwartzman 0.86%, Sameer Naushad Merali 0.62%, and Chemichemi Alliance International Limited 0.59%.
