Long-distance bus operators Transline Classic and ENA Coach have revised their fares on selected routes, citing increased operational costs following the recent fuel price review by the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA).

In separate notices on May 14 and May 15, Transline Classic and ENA Coach said the new charges take effect immediately.

“Following the recent fuel price review by the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA), Transline Classic wishes to inform all our esteemed travellers that there will be adjustments to fares on selected routes,” read part of the notice by Transline Classic.

Both companies said the adjustments were necessary to sustain operations amid rising fuel costs, while assuring passengers of continued safe and reliable services.

In addition, passengers travelling between Kisii and Kisumu will pay KSh 700, while those plying the Mombasa–upcountry route, in either direction, will be charged KSh 3,000.

The Nairobi–Kisumu and Nairobi–Siaya routes previously cost Ksh 1,600, while Nairobi–Bondo also stood at Ksh 1,600.
