Kirinyaga County: Man Arrested for Allegedly Killing His Mother Over Ksh. 6000

A 58-year-old man from Kiarigi village in Mwea East, Kirinyaga County has been arrested for allegedly killing his mother.

According to the area police commander Daniel Kitavi, the suspect identified as Ephantus Kiura Ndambiri was apprehended at Gacuriri village in Mbeere, Embu County.

The suspect is reported to have allegedly his 75-year-old mother identified as Grace Muthoni Ndambiri with a blunt object on June 12, 2022, hence killing her on the spot.

According to preliminary police investigations, the 58-year-old had a quarrel with his mother after she allegedly refused to give him Ksh.6000. 

The suspect is currently detained at Wanguru police station in Kirinyaga County after the court allowed investigators two weeks to probe the matter.
