The Council of Legal Education (CLE) has issued a notice to candidates registered for the November 2025 Advocates Training Programme (ATP) examinations.

The exams are scheduled to take place from Thursday, November 13 to Tuesday, November 25, 2025, both dates inclusive. Registration for the exams began on Monday, August 4, and will close on Monday, September 1, 2025.

In a notice dated Monday, August 25, CLE addressed first-time candidates who have paid for the exams but are experiencing difficulties completing their registration.

Such candidates have been instructed to send an email to [email protected] containing their M-PESA transaction details and registration number.

However, CLE emphasized that candidates whose applications are still pending approval should not send an email, as the council is still processing their submissions.

“All first-time candidates who have registered, made payment for the November 2025 ATP examination, and have issues completing registration are requested to send an email to [email protected] of their M-PESA transaction and their Registration Number,” said CLE.

“Candidates whose approvals are still pending are advised not to send the email. CLE is currently processing your application.”

In an earlier notice issued in July, CLE encouraged first-time candidates sitting the November 2025 ATP examinations to apply for the Bar Examination Loan, administered by the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB).

The application deadline for the loan was set for Monday, August 25. Candidates who wish to defer their exams may do so between Monday, October 20, and Friday, October 31, 2025.

CLE emphasized that no deferrals will be accepted after this period. Examination cards will be available for download on the candidate portal from Monday, November 3, to Saturday, November 8, 2025.

All registration-related inquiries should be directed to [email protected], and candidates are advised to include their registration numbers in all correspondence with the council.

The current ATP officially began on February 10, 2025, following the application window opened by the Kenya School of Law (KSL) in August 2024, which closed on October 31, 2024.

Notice for qualified candidates

Meanwhile, CLE has also requested a total of 146 qualified candidates to confirm the accuracy of their particulars before they are published in the Kenya Gazette.

These candidates are requested to log into their candidate portal and verify the accuracy of specific personal details before the information is published in the Kenya Gazette.

The details to be verified include the candidate’s full name (including correct spelling and order), national ID card or passport number, and nationality.

If any errors or omissions are identified, candidates must promptly initiate corrections via the portal. This can be done by clicking on the ‘Request Information Change’ option provided. If all details are accurate, no further action is required.

CLE has set Thursday, August 28, 2025, as the deadline for verifying and confirming this information. Any candidate who does not confirm their details by this date will have their information published as originally submitted.

The Council also noted that it will use the same communication channel to inform candidates about the schedule for collecting their certificates of compliance and final transcripts.
