The Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC), in partnership with the Beyond Zero Initiative, has announced scholarship opportunities for the Certificate in Community Health Nursing for the 2026/2027 academic year, with training set to begin in September 2026.
In a statement on May 14, KMTC said the programmee targets qualified applicants from Arid and Semi-Arid Lands (ASAL) counties, underserved minority communities, and other vulnerable and marginalized groups (VMGs), with priority given to candidates willing to return and serve in their local communities after graduation.
“The Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC), in partnership with the Beyond Zero Initiative, is offering scholarship opportunities for the Certificate course in Community Health Nursing commencing September 2026 in the 2026/2027 academic year,” read part of the statement.
Successful candidates will receive full scholarships covering the entire two-year course.
KMTC Rolls Out Requirements for 2026/2027 Community Health Nursing Scholarships
Applicants must have a Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade of C or its equivalent, with at least a C in English or Kiswahili, a C in Biology, and a D+ in Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry.
Female applicants have been encouraged to apply.
How to Apply
Interested candidates are required to apply online through the KMTC admissions portal at admissions.kmtc.ac.ke.
Use a valid personal email address. If you do not have an email address, you can easily create one before you continue with the application process.
- Visit the KMTC admissions page admissions.kmtc.ac.ke
- If you have registered an account, log in using your email and password
- If you do not have an account, click on the Register button on the top right-hand corner
- This will land you to creating account form
- Enter your name, email address and password (put a password that you can easily remember)
- Click on Create Account Button
- Fill in the online application form step by step until it is duly filled

- Click on the SUBMIT button
- You will be provided with the duly filled form to confirm your data
- Check information accuracy.
- Once you are satisfied that the information is correct, Click save changes
- On the dashboard, click on the “Apply Beyond Zero Scholarship”
- Fill the required information review the Beyond Zero form
- Print out the duly completed form, attach relevant documents, have it signed and stamped accordingly and sent to the Director/Chief Executive Officer, Kenya Medical Training College, P.O. Box 30195-00100 Nairobi

List of KMTC Campuses Offering Certificate in Community Health Nursing
KMTC offers Kenya Registered Community Health Nursing training across several campuses in the country.
These include Bondo, Busia, Eldoret, Garissa, Homa Bay, Iten, Kabarnet, Kapkatet, Kaptumo, Kitale, Kitui, Lodwar, Machakos, Migori, Msambweni, Mwingi, Nairobi, Nakuru, Nyahururu, Nyamira, Nyandarua, Nyeri, Port Reitz, Siaya, Sigowet, Thika, Voi, and Webuye campuses.
The programme is also available at Meru–Miathene Satellite Campus, Kakamega Campus, and Kombewa Campus, among others. Some campuses, such as Homa Bay and Mosoriot, appear more than once in listings due to expanded training capacity across KMTC centres.
