KUCCPS Lists Engineering Courses for 2024 KCSE Students with a D+ and D Grades

Engineering technology courses in Kenya are offered from certificate to postgraduate level in various colleges and universities.

Unlike the traditional engineering education paths (such as Mechanical or Civil Engineering), there is a wide range of engineering careers and specializations today that you can choose from, depending on your interests and the current entry requirements.

If a student doesn’t meet the requirements to enrol for a diploma or degree, all is not lost as he/she can enrol for a certificate in an engineering program and later upgrade to a diploma to a degree and even postgraduate.

KUCCPS Lists Engineering Courses for 2024 KCSE Students with a D+ and D Plain

These courses are offered in various technical training institutes, national polytechnics and technical and vocational colleges.

There are some courses that are offered only in one institution. For instance, a certificate in cyber security level 5 is only offered in Taita Taveta National Polytechnic while a certificate in graphic design level 5 is offered at Gatundu South Technical and Vocational College.

Most certificate courses in engineering and technology-related fields require a minimum entry of a minimum aggregate of D+ on D plain in Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE).

Certificate In Electrical Instrumentation and Control is offered at Rift Valley Technical and Tigania East Technical & Vocational College Meru County Training Institute Uasin Gishu County.

Students who scored a D+ in KCSE can study for a certificate in automotive engineering, electrical engineering, electrical installation, welding and fabrication and mechanical engineering.

Other courses include electrical operator, mechatronic engineering, civil engineering, motor vehicle mechanics, agriculture machinery and equipment mechatronics and electrical technician.

At the same time, students who scored C plain in KCSE can study a certificate course in agricultural engineering, building and civil engineering, mechanical plant engineering, automotive engineering, and gemology.

Additional courses include automotive technician, mechanical technology, mechanical production technician, plumbing, cyber security, welding and fabrication and solar installation.
