Maseno University is a public university in Kenya situated right on the Equator on the Kisumu – Busia Highway. The Main Campus is 25 kilometers from Kisumu City, Kisumu County.
Maseno started in 1990 as a University College it became a fully-fledged University in 2001.
The student population has rapidly risen to 27,000, with additional campuses in Kisumu, located in the Central Business District of Kisumu City, Odera Akang’o Campus in Yala, and the eCampus.
The University offers PhD Programmes, master’s degrees, undergraduate, diploma, certificates and post-graduate programmes in different disciplines at the following faculties and schools.
Maseno offers four Education degree programs, including Education in Science (With IT), Early Childhood Education (With IT), Primary Education (With IT) and Education in Special Needs Education (With IT).
School of Agriculture & Food Security
The courses offered under this School include Horticulture (With IT), Animal Science (With IT), Agronomy (With IT), Soil Science (With IT) and Aquatic Resources Conservation & Development (With IT).
Others are Fisheries & Aquaculture (With IT), Agricultural Education & Extension (With IT), Agribusiness Management (With IT), Bachelor of Science in Agribusiness Management (With IT), Agricultural Economics (With IT) and Agricultural Economics (With IT).

The School of Arts is the largest, offering a wide range of courses. These include Arts in French (With IT), Arts in Psychology (With IT), Arts in Sociology & Anthropology (With IT), Arts in Communication & Media Technology (With IT), Arts in Drama & Theatre Studies (With IT), Arts in Interior Design (With IT), Arts in Music (With IT), and Arts in Criminology (With IT).

Some of the fee structure for Business courses include Business Administration with IT, Marketing with IT, Economics with IT, and Human Resource Management with IT each costing Ksh 184,000 per year.
Arts courses include Criminology with IT (Ksh153,000), History and Archaeology with IT (Ksh122,000), Literature with IT (Ksh122,000), Music with IT (Ksh204,000) and Philosophy with IT (Ksh122,000).
Others like Sociology and Anthropology with IT, International Relations and Diplomacy with IT, Kiswahili with IT, Language & Communication with IT cost Ksh153,000 per academic year.
Drama & Theater Studies with IT and Interior Design with IT cost Ksh184,000.
Actuarial Science with IT yearly fee is Ksh245,000 while Biochemistry and Medical Laboratory Science cost Ksh275,000.
