Moi University has announced dates for the issuance of certificates and transcripts after the 46th Graduation ceremony in 2024.
In a notice on February 15, 2025, acting Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof Kiplagat Kotut asked all 2024 graduates to collect their certificates and transcripts from Wednesday, February 19, as per the attached schedule.

“Attention, 2024 Graduates! Your certificates and transcripts will be issued as per the attached schedule. Please mark your calendars and ensure you collect yours on the designated date,” said Moi University.
Graduates must strictly be present at the university on the date allocated to their school and programme (as per your serial number in the graduation booklet).

On the other hand, mandatory requirements are listed on the student clearance form (graduates should print their online clearance form and carry along the listed documents original and copies).
The university added that all certificates should be signed out by Wednesday, April 9, 2025.

Issuing of the certificates and transcripts will take place from Monday-Friday (8.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m.) at the Main campus, Kesses.

Collection of the certificates will commence on Wednesday, February 19, with graduates of Tourism, Hospitality, and Events Management, and Dentistry Schools (both Masters and Bachelors).
They shall be then followed by the Schools of Public Health (February 20), Agriculture and Natural Resources (February 21), Information Sciences (February 24 & 25), Medicine & Engineering (February 26) and Engineering (February 27).
Graduates from the School of Sciences and Aerospace Studies, on the other hand, have been scheduled to do the collection on February 28 and March 3.
February 28 has been scheduled for Masters, BSC in Actuarial Science, BSC in Applied Statistics with Computing, and BSC Biochemistry program graduates.
On the other hand, Bachelor of Science, BSC in Computer Science, and BSC in Microbiology graduates will do their collection on March 3.
School of Arts and Social Sciences graduates have been scheduled to do the collections between Tuesday, March 4 and Monday, March 10. Each day has been designated for specific programs and serial numbers.
School of Business
In addition, School of Arts shall be followed by the School of Business and Economics who have been scheduled to do the collections between March 11 and Monday, March 17.
Each day has also been designated for specific programs and serial numbers.
School of Education graduates will then follow between Tuesday, March 18 to Monday, April 7 with each day designated for specific programs and serial numbers.
Further, Moi University announced that collection of certificates and transcripts for 2024 graduates will end with students from the Bomet University college between April 8 and April 9.
The first day has been designated for School of Arts and Social Sciences and School of Business and Entrepreneurship while School of Education graduates shall be the last to collect their Certificates & Transcripts.

VC sent on leave
The announcement by Moi University comes after embattled VC Professor Isaac Kosgey was sent on an eight-months leave.

Professor Noah Midamba, the new University Council Chair on Saturday, February 1, announced that Kosgey would go on an annual leave after a council meeting on January 30.
The Council chair noted that Kosgey had accumulated substantial number of leave days equivalent to eight months.
Prof Kiplagat Kotut was appointed as acting VC while the chief finance officer and legal officer were also suspended.
At the same time, Deputy VC (DVC) Academic Research, Extension and Student Affairs Prof. Isaac Kimengi was sent on a one-year sabbatical leave.
DVC Administration Planning, and Strategy Prof Eng. Henry Kiriamiti also proceeded on a one-year sabbatical leave.
Professor Khaemba Ongeti was appointed to act on interim basis as DVC Academic Research.
The decision came after Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba in a gazette notice dated Friday, January 17, 2025, appointed Noah Midamba as the new Chairperson of the Moi University Council for a period of three years.
Additionally, CS Ogamba appointed new members to the Moi University Council, revoking the appointments of previous members.
