Biography
Julius Ogamba is the Cabinet Secretary (CS) for Education. He currently serves as Independent and Non-Executive Director of KenGen, Kenya’s leading electric power generation company.
Early Life and Education
Ogamba’s educational background is impressive, including a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of Nairobi and a Master of Laws (LLM) from the University of Dundee in Scotland, where he specialized in Petroleum Taxation and Finance.
He also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law, laying a solid foundation for his distinguished career in law and public service.
His pursuit of further education took him to the University of London’s Institute of Advanced Legal Studies, where he earned a Diploma in Law.
Similarly, Migos holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Nairobi.
Additionally, he is a Certified Public Secretary and a member of the Law Society of Kenya, underscoring his dedication to high professional standards and ethics in his field.

Ogamba’s career spans three decades, marked by significant contributions to Kenya’s legal and corporate sectors. He started his professional journey in law, earning respect for his skills and determination.
Julius served as a Commissioner for Oaths and Notary Public, and his legal expertise and innovative leadership have been crucial in high-profile trials and corporate governance.
With nearly 30 years of legal practice, Migos has built a reputation for offering legal advice across various industries. Beyond his work with KenGen, Julius has made notable contributions to the banking, finance, manufacturing, oil, gas, natural energy, and real estate sectors.

In 2022, Ezekiel Machogu selected Ogamba as his running mate for the Kisii gubernatorial race on the UDA party ticket, but they lost to the current governor, Simba Arati.
Similarly, in the 2017 general elections, Migosi ran for the Kitutu Chache North parliamentary seat on the ODM ticket but was defeated by Jimmy Angwenyi.
