Kipchumba’s advocacy is shaped by his own experience of living with disability after contracting polio as a child. The disease left him with permanent paralysis of his lower limbs, according to media reports.
He has since used his public role to push for stronger immunisation efforts and policies that address the challenges faced by persons with disabilities.
His work has included promoting community participation in vaccination campaigns and encouraging public confidence in immunisation, particularly in areas where families may have concerns about vaccines.
Harold Kipchumba has also supported efforts to improve awareness of vaccine-preventable diseases and the importance of reaching children who might otherwise miss routine vaccinations.
