The Technical University of Kenya (TUK) has issued directives to Diploma graduates and prospective Diploma students for the May 2025 intake.
In a notice on March 20, 2025, the academic registrar issued directives to Diploma graduates transitioning to Bachelor of Technology Programs and Diploma students placed through the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) for the May 2025 intake.

According to the university, Diploma graduates from the November 26, 2024, cohort admitted to Bachelor of Technology programs will begin semester 2 classes on April 14, 2025.
“Admission letters are now available for download, and students will receive SMS notifications from the Admissions Office,” read part of the notice.

At the same time, TUK announced that Diploma students placed by KUCCPS for the May 2025 intake will commence their programs on May 5, 2025.

KUCCPS has announced that the application portal for this group will close on March 20, 2025.

Admission letters will be downloaded once KUCCPS releases the final list of placed students.
“Students will receive SMS notifications once the list is finalized,” the notice adds.
At the same time, the TUK academic registrar said that Module II applicants admitted for the May 2025 intake will start classes on May 5, 2025.
The institution further said that the admission process is still ongoing and will be conducted in batches as the application portal closes.
Admission letters will be available for download once processing is complete for each batch.
The directives come after the Ministry of Education signed a memorandum of understanding with the Kenya University Staff Union (KUSU) and the University Academic Staff Union (UASU) to end the strike that had paralyzed learning activities at TUK for a month.
Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba while speaking on Monday shared that the discussions and the signed agreement now paves the way for the university’s staff to resume their core duties and responsibilities.
“I trust and believe that the Council and the Administration will work extra hard to ensure that the time that has been lost is recovered for the students,” stated the CS.
Resumption of studies
Consequently, TUK released its revised academic calendar for the 2024/2025 academic year, following a Senate meeting held on February 18.

The Senate meeting agreed that students would be granted a two-week revision period before sitting for their Semester I examinations.
For Semester one, students will begin their revision period on March 18, which will run until March 29.
Semester one examinations will then take place from March 31 to April 12.
On the other hand, the second semester is scheduled to begin on April 14- with lectures running until May 17 followed by Continuous Assessment Tests (CATS) from May 19 to May 24.
Lectures will further resume for the second part of the semester from May 26 to June 28, 2025.
The semester will conclude with another round of CATS scheduled between June 30 and July 5, 2025.
