The Agriculture and Food Authority (AFA) has invited applications from interested Kenyans for various positions.
AFA, in a notice published on Tuesday, March 24, announced 109 permanent and pensionable vacancies across 13 departments.
“In line with the Authority’s mandate as stipulated in the AFA Act No. 13 of 2013, the Board of Agriculture and Food Authority is seeking to competitively recruit qualified Kenyan professionals to fill the under-listed positions on permanent and pensionable terms,” read the notice in part.
AFA Announces 109 Permanent and Pensionable Positions
The positions include 1 Director in the Technical Directorate (Grade AFA 2) and 20 Compliance Officer II positions.
Other vacancies advertised include one Market and Product Development Officer II, one Records Management Officer II, and ten Crops Development Officer II.
At the same time, AFA is looking for five Security Officer II, and ten Statistics Officer II (all Grade AFA 8).
At Grade AFA 9, the authority is seeking 26 Assistant Compliance Officer III and ten Assistant Quality Assurance Officer III.
Artisan III positions (Grade AFA 11) include two Mechanical, two Electrical, and one Plumbing.
The authority is also hiring six Balers III, nine Drivers III, and five Office Assistant III (Grade AFA 12).

Applicants who meet the qualifications are encouraged to submit a detailed application, including copies of academic and professional certificates, testimonials, and a comprehensive curriculum vitae. The CV should include the applicant’s current position, email, and telephone contacts for three referees familiar with their qualifications and work experience.

Shortlisted candidates will be required to meet the leadership and integrity standards outlined in Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010.
This includes providing a Police Clearance Certificate from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, a Higher Education Loans Board clearance, a Tax Compliance Certificate from the Kenya Revenue Authority, a clearance from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission, a report from an approved Credit Reference Bureau, and a clearance from the Commission for University Education for any degrees obtained outside Kenya.

The role of the Authority is to regulate, develop, and promote the value chains of scheduled crops for increased economic growth.
