HELB Announces 32 Vacancies; How to Apply

The Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) has announced vacancies for Kenyans to apply.

HELB in a notice on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, announced that it is seeking to recruit transformative, competent and self-driven individuals with an innate dynamism for listed positions within the board.

“The successful candidates to fill the positions will join a highly performing team and should not only be passionate, innovative, and qualified but also be dependable, emotionally intelligent and have effective interpersonal, communication and leadership skills,” the notice reads in part.

In the advert, HELB announced vacancies for Director of Operations [Operations Directorate], Deputy Director-Debt Management, Deputy Director-ICT Infrastructure and Support, Deputy Director-Business Application and Innovations, Deputy Director-Corporate Communication, and Deputy Director-Supply Chain Management, each with one position.

Others include Deputy Director-Research and Planning, Assistant Director-ICT Business Application and Innovations, Assistant Director-Information Systems Security & Data Protection, Assistant Director-Customer Experience (Field Services), Assistant Director-Legal Services, Assistant Director-Research and Planning, and Assistant Director-Internal Audit.

Assistant Director-Financial Accounting, Assistant Director-External Resource Mobilization and Products Development, Principal Officer-Legal Services, Principal Customer Experience Officer-Digital and Creative Services, Senior Customer Experience Officer-Digital and Creative Services, and Internal Audit Officer also have one position each.

On the other hand, HELB is looking for two drivers and eleven suitable candidates to take up roles as Assistant Customer Experience Officers.

Qualified and interested applicants who meet the listed requirements should either submit two hard copies of the job application, curriculum vitae, academic & professional certificates and relevant testimonials.

They must make the submission while quoting the Title and Reference Number of the position on the cover letter and envelope, on or before Tuesday, 24th December 24, 2024, at 5.00 p.m.

The Higher Education Loans Board was established by an Act of Parliament-CAP 213A in 1995 with the mandate to provide loans, bursaries and scholarships to Kenyans pursuing higher education in recognized Kenyan universities and colleges and to recover the same after completion of studies to facilitate establishment of a revolving fund.

CEO position declared vacant

This advertisement comes days after the board on Tuesday, December 3, announced vacancy for the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) position.

HELB, in a job advertisement, asked qualified and interested Kenyans to apply for the job opportunity, which is at the center of higher education funding in Kenya.

Outgoing CEO Charles Ringera held the position from 2013. Ringera is seasoned banker with over 20 years’ practical banking experience that cuts across all facets of central and commercial banking.

Earlier this year, Ringera was among shortlisted candidates to fill the position of Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK).
