- An Executive Master of Business Administration from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (2010), and
- A Master of Laws (LL.M) from the University of Nairobi (2005).
These build upon his foundational legal education, having earned a Bachelor of Laws (LL. B) from the University of Nairobi in 2004.

Earlier in his academic journey, he pursued and completed a Bachelor of Arts in Economics at the same institution in 1986.

He has been the Chairman of the Former Parliamentarians Association since 2017 to present.
Njuguna has also been a Managing Director at Metorcosmo Ltd since 1994 to present.
He is also a senior Partner at Njuguna Kimani and Co. Advocates.
Besides, Njuguna is the Chairman of the Moi University Council.
