Otiende Amollo is a Kenyan lawyer and a politician who serves as the current member of parliament for Rarieda Constituency in Siaya County.
He was born on February 1, 1971, in the Maseno Area, Kisumu County.
Before becoming a member of parliament, he had served in several positions in the government and private organisations.
Educational background of Otiende Amollo
Otiende Amollo attended Maseno Mixed Primary School for his elementary education and went on to join Maranda Boys’ High School in 1986.
He graduated from Maranda Boys’ High School in 1989 with a KCSE Mean grade of A (plain).
After his high school education, he joined the University of Nairobi to study law, and he obtained a Bachelor of Laws in 1995.
Additionally, he has a Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law. In 1998, he obtained a Certificate in International Human Rights Law from the University of Lund, Sweden.
In 2014, Amollo went on to do his master’s degree in Master of Laws (LL.M) from the University of Nairobi (D.A.A.D. German Academic Exchange Program) Scholarship.
Career life
In 2011, Otiende Amollo joined the commission of administrative justice, where he served as the chairperson up to 2016.
He later joined the National Assembly of Kenya as a member of parliament as from 2013 to 2022.
Additionally, he has served as the vice chair of the justice and legal affairs committee and a member of the public accounts committee from 2018 to 2022.
Otiende Amollo was then re-elected to parliament in the 2022 general elections.
Apart from being a Lawyer, Paul Otiende Amollo is a successful researcher.
He has done several types of research on the areas of Constitutional Law, theory and practice, the African Human Rights System, the question of HIV/AIDS, and the Law.
