Peponi School are three schools, yet a family of one, which was founded in 1985, with spiritual principles being the main foundation for building the school.

The prestigious institution is a co-educational international school located in Westlands, Kenya, renowned for its holistic approach to education and world-class facilities.

It caters to students from 18 months to 18 years across three institutions: Peponi House Kabete Kindergarten, Peponi House Preparatory School, and Peponi Secondary School. Situated on a 50-acre campus.

Peponi House Kabete Kindergarten

Peponi House Kabete Kindergarten is the early years division of Peponi School, catering to children aged 18 months to 5 years.

Its location in Westlands offers a nurturing and stimulating environment for the young learners.

It serves as the foundation for Peponi’s holistic educational approach, preparing students for progression to the preparatory school and beyond.

The kindergarten operates under Peponi’s motto, Hadi Upeoni (“To the Utmost”), emphasising the development of each child’s potential in a supportive, family-like setting.

Peponi House Kabete Kindergarten follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, adapted to the British National Curriculum and tailored to the needs of its diverse student body.

Teaching is child-centred, with small class sizes ensuring personalised attention. The kindergarten uses innovative tools like smart boards and integrates technology to enhance learning.

Outdoor play areas and well-equipped classrooms create a dynamic environment where children can explore and develop critical thinking skills.

Admission to the kindergarten begins with an enquiry form, followed by a tour and meeting with the headmaster or a senior staff member.

Applicants must submit an application form, a non-refundable registration fee of Ksh10,000, and a refundable caution deposit (Ksh275,000 for Kenyan residents, Ksh350,000 for non-residents). A sibling discount of 5% for the second child and 10% for subsequent siblings applies.

Fees for the 2024/2025 academic year are approximately Ksh195,000 per term for playgroup (18 months to 3 years).

Peponi House Preparatory School

The Preparatory School follows the British National Curriculum and the Common Entrance (CE) syllabus, designed to prepare students for senior school entry in Kenya, the UK, or elsewhere.

The curriculum is broad and balanced, covering Mathematics, English, Science, History, Geography, Kiswahili, Art, Drama, Music, Design Technology, Computing, French (from Year 3), with Spanish or Latin introduced in Year 6.

The school uses the Firefly Virtual Learning Environment to enhance learning, allowing students to access resources and engage interactively.

The curriculum encourages critical thinking, creativity, and independent learning, with practical experiences like science experiments and art projects.

Academic success is evident in the school’s record of 25 scholarships over two years to prestigious secondary schools.

Peponi House offers a rich extracurricular program to complement its academic focus, including hockey, rugby, swimming, athletics, tennis, and more, with participation in events like the IAPS Netball Tournament.

Fees for the 2024/2025 academic year for Years 3–8 are approximately KES 632,285 per term (over Ksh1.8 million annually).

Peponi Secondary School

Located on a serene 50-acre campus in Ruiru, just north of Nairobi, it offers both boarding and day options.

Peponi Secondary School follows the British curriculum, offering the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) in Years 10 and 11, followed by AS and A-Level qualifications in Years 12 and 13.

The curriculum includes a wide range, including Mathematics, English, Sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Physics), Humanities (History, Geography), Languages (French, Spanish, Kiswahili), and electives like Art, Music, Drama, and Design Technology.

Personal, Social, Health, and Economic Education (PSHE) and access to the Firefly Virtual Learning Environment for interactive learning and resources are also available at the institution.

Annual concerts, bi-annual tea-time concerts, and a joint carol service with the preparatory school are held at the school. Many students engage in music lessons or perform in school productions.

Approximately 66% of students across the Peponi network learn a musical instrument, a trend that continues in the secondary school.

For the 2024/2025 academic year, fees for a 13-year-old day student are approximately Ksh3,412,125 for the first year, including one-time fees, based on web sources. Boarding fees are higher, at around KES 1.1 million per term (KES 3.3 million annually).
