Peter Wanyama is a Kenyan lawyer and the Managing Partner at Manyonge Wanyama Associates and Advocates. He has vast experience in policy review/legislative development, Legal Audit/Statutory Risk assessments, and Devolution Litigation.
He has also participated in the drafting of 32 legislation statutes for the development of government ministries and agencies.
In January 2026, he announced his bid for the presidency of the Law Society of Kenya.
This would be his second stab at it, after his unsuccessful bid.
Other candidates in the race are Senior Counsel Charles Kanjama and Mwaura Kabata, the Vice President of the outgoing chair, Faith Odhiambo.
“I have heard your concerns regarding the deteriorating practice environment. To enhance the image, profile, and institutional prestige of the bar and the legal profession, I will issue a Presidential Order/Proclamation on my first day in office aimed at improving our practice space. This directive will be a restatement of law that must be adhered to by all who interact with us,” said Wanyama.
