Wambui Nyutu OGW was the Vice Chairperson of the National Cohesion and Integration Commission NCIC until July 22 when the Commission resolved to remove her from the position.
By profession, Wambui Nyutu is a lawyer and serves as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya.
Nyutu is the founder and policy maker of the Wambui Nyutu Foundation, a youth-led organisation concerned with the economic, political, and social issues affecting the youth of Kenya.

Wambui Nyutu earned her Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree from the University of Nairobi, followed by a Postgraduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law.
She is currently completing an MBA in Strategic Management at the University of Nairobi.
She also holds a certificate in Leadership Decision‑Making and participated in Harvard Kennedy School’s “Women and Power” programme.
Wambui is a Certified Professional Mediator and has certification in arbitration and alternative dispute resolution from the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
Career information
Wambui Nyutu’s early career began as a Legal Secretary at Peman Consultants from 2016 to 2019.
This was followed by the role of Legal Assistant at Kiragu Wathuta & Co. Advocates in 2017.
She was appointed Director at the National Irrigation Board of Kenya in 2018.

In October 2019, she was appointed Vice Chairperson and sole lawyer commissioner at the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC), where she oversaw legal investigations and led the Commission’s legal department.
She founded the Wambui Nyutu Foundation in 2020, a youth-led organisation focusing on empowerment and social issues.
In 2018, she was awarded the Order of the Grand Warrior (OGW) in recognition of her leadership and service.
Wambui Nyutu was reappointed in 2023 for a second term at the NCIC. News of her imminent dismissal came on the heels of her growing involvement in politics and association with former deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
In a statement, NCIC Chairperson cited her continued involvement in partisan political activities, a move deemed to violates her oath of office and the law.
In December 2023, Nyutu visited Gachagua and hinted at plans to vie for an elective seat in the upcoming 2027 elections.
She has since attended political functions associated with the former Deputy President and is now among the aspirants eying the Murang’a County Woman representative seat.
