The Kericho county ad hock committee that was set up to investigate embezzlement of funds raised for Londiani accident victims has recommended the sacking of culprits.
The committee had 14 days to investigate alleged misappropriation of Ksh14.5 million that was raised for victims of the Londiani Junction accident.

The selected committee presented its report before the Kericho county assembly on Friday, August 11, recommending the ouster of various county officials.
Moreover, the MCAs revealed that six county officials in different ministries were involved in embezzlement of funds meant to help the crash victims.
Six officers including two CECs and three chief officers were allegedly involved in the embezzlement.
Commitee findings on Missing Londiani Cash
According to the committee, the County secretary Wesley Bor was involved with allegations of violating the public finance act by forging minutes.
Furthermore, the lawmakers held that Health CEC Brenda Bii be removed from office for abuse of office by overseeing misappropriation of fundraiser funds.
At the same time, the legislators want Finance CEC Leornard Ngetich removed from office over allegations of abuse of office.
Others featuring on the list are County Chief Officer of Finance Gilbert Bii and the County Chief Officer for lands Betty Chebet.
”That all the money taken out of the county donation account be reimbursed and be paid to the victims of the Londiani accident as it was intended and that the county government of Kericho to meet all other expenses including medical bills for patients,” the committee report read.
According to the report, the officials allegedly forged minutes, permitted irregular funds withdrawal, and supervised misuse of funds thus violating section 138 of the public finance act.
Moreover, the report noted that only sixty thousand shillings was paid to the victims of the accident, raising fundamental questions about the rest of the money.

A probe into the misappropriation of the money raised for Londiani accident victims kicked off after Kericho Deputy Governor Fred Kirui claimed that some individuals had embezzled over Ksh13 million raised for the victims.
Deputy president Rigathi Gachagua led a fundraiser in Kericho county on July 4 where over Ksh14 million was raised towards Londiani Junction accident victims.
