Kenyan Aviation company Rotorjet has received the H130 helicopter from the Airbus Helicopters, marking the 1000th H130 helicopter delivery by the rotorcraft manufacturer.
According to Airbus Helicopters, the H130 helicopter continues to excel in the intermediate single-engine market, upgrading the air transport from passenger transport to aerial work.
“We just delivered the 1,000 th H130 helicopter to Kenyan operator Rotorjet Aviation. From passenger transport to aerial work, the H130 continues to define excellence in the intermediate single-engine market,” Airbus noted.
H130 helicopters have been used over the years by aviation companies in tourism, corporate transport, emergency medical services, law enforcement, and utility missions across more than 40 countries worldwide.
Arrival of the H130 helicopter at Rotorjet Aviation Company Limited on May 12 increased the number of the H130 helicopters to three.
Before the delivery, Rotorjet had two H130 helicopters in the fleet in addition to the two H125 in the aviation company.

Rotorjet is a Kenyan helicopter charter operator based at Wilson Airport, operating as a commercial company associated with Kwae Island Development Limited (KIDL).
It is, however, registered as a separate company with its own Air Operator Certificate (AOC) from the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA).
Nancy Waithera Gitau, who is also a board member and non-executive director at the Sidian Bank Limited, currently serves as the manager at the Rotorjet Aviation Company Limited.
Nancy Gitau, the manager, oversees the legal, regulatory, and operational matters at the aviation company.
She is a qualified advocate of the High Court of Kenya and a certified public secretary experienced in corporate law, commercial transactions, and governance.

Services Offered by Rotorjet Aviation Company Limited
Rotorjet specializes in helicopter operations across East Africa, with a focus on executive charters and VIP transport.
Furthermore, the aviation company offers helicopter safaris and scenic flights across the Rift Valley, Maasai Mara, Watamu, Lake Magadi, and other tourist destinations.
In addition, the company offers helicopter emergency medical services (HEMS) and air ambulance services for medical evacuations.
Recently, during the 2026 rhino charge, Rotorjet provided a MedEvac helicopter, ensuring quick medical evacuation for the officials and volunteers.
The company also offers services in conservation and wildlife work, including elephant collaring and aerial support for projects such as the Mara Elephant Project.
Rotorjet Aviation services involve aerial and utility work where the helicopters are used in survey, photography, event support, and utility inspections.
Despite offering sightseeing and leisure flight services, the company has limited fixed-wing and additional charter support.

Airbus H130 Helicopter Features
The Airbus H130, formerly known as the Eurocopter EC130 T2, is a single-engine light helicopter in the Écureuil family.
It has a capacity of up to 7 passengers plus a pilot and a Safran Arriel 2D turboshaft engine producing up to 952 shp.
Further, the helicopter has a maximum take-off weight of 2,500 kg for external loads and a maximum speed of 237 kilometers per hour.
Compared with the H125 helicopter, the H130 offers greater comfort for tourism, as it is a more passenger-focused model.
