Popular content creator Chogin Kale Comedian, known for his skits in the Kalenjin language, has died in a grisly road accident in Bomet County.
Chogin was reported to have been travelling in a 14-seater matatu towards Bomet when the vehicle veered off the road and collided with a tractor at Silibwet, Bomet county.
Acting area Chief Richard Cheruiyot confirmed the incident which occurred on Monday, March 18, evening. Four others died in the accident, according to confirmed reports.
Content creators in Kenya have mourned the sudden death of the budding comedian.
‘The Kalenjin Entertainment Industry has lost an incredible life, Chongin. To the family and friends, my thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. May the lord give you strength and peace,” Content creator Brobox wrote.
“Rest in peace Chongin Kale Comedian. Your comedy skits were amazing,” another creator DJ Nosh indicated.
News about his death spread across social media platforms, with many mourning him and expressing their disbelief as they struggle to come to terms with the reality.

Chogin Mourns Brian Chira
The incident adds to the list of recent accidents that have claimed the lives of creatives in the country.
Chogin was among content creators who mourned Tiktoker Brian Chira who was confirmed dead on Saturday, March 16, 2024.
“It’s very painful to lose a young soul like Brian Chira, RIP brother!” he said in response to the news.
The accident, according to police, happened at Karuri area in Kiambu County, and his body was taken to City mortuary in Nairobi.
Chira’s ascent to fame began in 2022 when his video speaking as a witness to a viral accident scene captivated the audiences online.

The Death of Brian Chira
According to the police, Chira had been frequenting an entertainment venue in the Gacharage area near the Total Petrol Station.
His friend, identified as Zeleck Momanyi Alfonso, found him in the middle of a confrontation with security personnel from the venue, who reportedly sought to kick him out due to disruptive behavior.
Subsequently, the friend opted to escort Chira home on a motorcycle, unaware of the tragic events that would transpire.
Upon reaching the Gacharage area, as per the police report, Chira alighted from the motorcycle and fled towards the main road, where he was struck by an oncoming vehicle, resulting in severe head injuries.
