Saboti Constituency Member of Parliament Caleb Amisi has showered economist David Ndii with praises stating that that he is a genius.

In a social media post on July 4, Amisi said that he did not know him personally but remembered hearing him speak at a coalition convention at Bomas in 2020, which prompted his remarks.

“This @David Ndii was the chief economist and strategist in the NASA coalition. If NASA won the election, this guy would have run the economy under baba presidency. I don’t know the guy on a personal level, but I once listened to him at Bomas at the coalition convention around 2020 there. He sounded like a genius,” Amisi said.

In his statement on Thursday, Amisi alleged that Ndii was under captivity, adding that it is hard for a genius to work with retrogressive leadership.

Additionally, he urged the economist to resign voluntarily to save his face following the protests or request from Kenyans that he is misadvising the president.

“I think is hard for a genius to work with retrogressive leadership. Ndii is under captivity, a victim of mediocrity and an overzealous regime. He must resign voluntarily to save face,” he added.

Caleb Amisi Alleges Ruto is Controlling

The MP further insinuated that the president is controlling and will continue to hire people he can control and micromanage, despite firing Ndii.

“It is the president advising Ndii on what to advise the president. Even if #Cabinet goes, Ruto will replace him with the same caliber of leaders he can control. He seems to micromanage even procurement officers and accountants without knowledge of his ministers and PSs,” he said.

Additionally, Caleb referenced a quote from a former US president, further claiming that those working under the head of state were afraid to resign.

“President Ruto should have a sign on his desk that reads, “The buck stops here, “akin to Harry Truman, former US president. Disgruntled ministers, PSs, and MPs fear to resign out of fear,” he alleged.

Advice to David Ndii

Caleb went on to commend Ndii acknowledging his hard work and dedication stating,

“My advice is that you worked hard for this seat; you got energy and charisma, Presidents are never workaholics, they manage the workaholics. I guess by now you have enough money, your election campaign buddies are now rich, and you no longer owe them; most are now no longer popular on the ground, new faces will emerge that you can work with including #Gen Z,” he advised.

In addition, he advised him to form a competent team across all organs of government regardless of the political party they support citing that things change and people too.

Lastly, he commended the economist for his achievements and urged him to leave a legacy Kenyans will remember him for.

“Sit in statehouse for one week and emerge with a competent team across all organs of government even if the competent person supported Azimio or Kanu, things change and people change too, they all love their country. You have achieved everything you wanted, at least have one legacy people will remember you for!” he concluded.

Kenyans React

Following his remarks on social media, a section of Kenyans responded to his message.

X user Lincy Tirop criticized the Kenya Kwanza administration appointments noting that the President prioritized loyalty over competence.

“It’s one thing to make mistakes in some areas, but to consistently fail across the board is unacceptable. If we closely examine KK’s cabinet, loyalty was prioritized over competence,” she noted

Another user named Balewa A posed a question to Amisi stating, “Ask yourself why he was sacked by Kagame, Kibaki and world bank you’ll have the answers.”

SabEmerit commended the MP for his Advice to Ndii, terming it as a patriotic move.

“Wow! This is such a piece of advice to consider. Thanks, Mhesh(honorable). This is now the spirit of nationhood that we desire and deserve,” he said
