Embakasi East Member of Parliament (MP) Paul Ongili alias Babu Owino has launched a tournament for interested Nairobi youth.
In a Facebook post on Saturday, November 4, Babu Owino announced he launched the Embakasi East Pool table Tournament at Utawala ward.
“The Tournament will take place in Embakasi Ward, Utawala, Mihang’o, Upper Savanna and Lower Savanna wards,” said Owino.
However, the MP failed to reveal the dates of the tournament and the registration process.
“One man practicing sportsmanship is far better than 50 preaching it,” he said.
In the post, Babu Owino shared photos of him playing a pool table game with his supporters in Utawala ward.
Among the identifiable people in the photos is former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s supporter Calvin Okoth alias Gaucho
Kenyans on FB lauded the MP for connecting with the youth and his constituents.
Further, others also questioned the criteria used to select the competitors for the tournament.
“Get it a trophy, give this sport a purposed target name and make it a tournament match where finalists will be rewarded by the Constituency, said John Nyachwaya.

Babu Owino on the Headlines
Babu Owino, a former student leader, was on spot recently when he shared a video wondering why University student leaders were silent when the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) had not released funds to student.
Afterwards, some universities including Multimedia University and Machakos University took to the streets to demand funds.
Machakos University staged protests on November 2, a month after Multimedia students demonstrated on October 3.
Furthermore, the MP argued that the silence of the student leaders was an act of betrayal to the students who elected them.
In addition, Babu has been in an online war with Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja over management of the city.
He has also been against the deployment of Kenya police to Haiti.
