Human rights activist Boniface Mwangi appeared at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) on the evening of Sunday, September 1, as President William Ruto was departing for China.
In a video shared on his TikTok account, Mwangi is seen being blocked by a traffic police officer as the President makes his way to the airport. Mwangi can be heard questioning the officer while shouting from his car before being asked to proceed.
“I am here at the airport, and Ruto is headed to China to ask for a loan, so we are waiting for him to leave,” Mwangi said.
He later shared another video of himself inside the airport facility, shouting “Ruto Must Go” while walking around with a briefcase.
“Ruto must go, he must go. He is a slave master. Ruto says he has laid the foundation, and he will provide funds while borrowing money from Indians and Whites. He is a poor leader. Whatever you do, wherever you are, remember that he must go,” Mwangi stated.
The activist went on to criticize the government for the poor condition of the airport, comparing it to a bus park in Nairobi’s Central Business District (CBD).
Boniface Mwangi Asks Kenyans to Stop Tribal Politics
Boniface Mwangi also alleged that police officers at the facility demand bribes from passengers and drivers.
“We are at JKIA, and it looks like a bus stop—just like Country Bus. The police are just waiting to ask for bribes. If you park your car there, they will ask for Ksh50 or Ksh100,” he claimed.
Additionally, he advised Kenyans to stop engaging in tribal politics and to elect new leaders.
He emphasized that all current political leaders, including President Ruto, former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, and Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, should be voted out in the next general election.
“To Kenyans: don’t be tribal. Everyone currently in office must go home. All of them must go. Find someone and elect them. It doesn’t matter if they are unknown; elect someone who cares. Ruto does not care or love you,” Mwangi urged.
