Cecily Mbarire Named UDA Party Chairperson

Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala has also been named as the interim Secretary-General

Embu Governor Cecily Mbarire has been appointed interim Chairperson of United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party.

Mbarire takes up her new role, replacing former Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama who resigned to serve as a member of the Parliamentary Commission.

While speaking with Capital FM news, UDA party spokesperson Wanjohi Githae confirmed that former Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala has also been named as the interim Secretary-General.

Malala takes over the secretary general role from Nominated Senator Veronica Maina.

Moreover, Cleophas Malala is one of those who were recently shortlisted for the position of Chief Administrative Secretary.

He was set to be interviewed by the Public Service Commission.

Nevertheless, the UDA party is anticipated to start a membership registration drive on Wednesday, to April 30, 2023, ahead of its grassroots and party leadership elections.
