Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei has stated that people who supported Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition during the August polls should not be considered for Principal Secretary Positions.
Cherargei noted that Azimio supporters did not believe in William Ruto’s Presidency thus, should not be allowed to serve in his government.
“On the shortlisted PSs have seen some Azimio-OKA apologists who didn’t believe in H.E Ruto Presidency & insulted him, let them remain in opposition not to sabotage our God given govt & no recycling. Loyalty to H.E Ruto must be absolute to serve govt & Kenyans,” he tweeted.
Moreover, the sentiments by Cherargei came following a statement by Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, who noted that the Kenya Kwanza government will prioritize rewarding its loyalists.

Furthermore, while speaking in Uasin Gishu on Sunday, the deputy president stated that they will first reward Kenya Kwanza loyalists before the newcomers are considered.
“Some want to reap where they did not sow, those who sowed should harvest first. When we are done with all those who sowed, when they harvest…those who did not sow will have whatever remains,” he said.

Nonetheless, the Public Service Commission has so far shortlisted 585 candidates to battle for the Principal Secretary positions in various ministries.
Several Kenya Kwanza loyalists and a few who supported Azimio in the 2022 campaigns have been listed.
