The Nandi Senator took to his social media on Monday, March 13, saying they cannot allow the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition leader anywhere near the President.

As such, Cherargei told the Nairobi governor to instead go for the handshake with Raila, adding that it will suit him the same way he is working with leaders allied to Azimio coalition in Nairobi County.
“Salaaale! Sakaja Johnson on this you are wrong, Tinga (Raila Odinga) shall not be near our beloved H.E Ruto you can go ahead and do handshake/hand cheque with Tinga alone the way you have done with Azimio-Oka remnants in Kanairo (Nairobi),” he said.
Moreover, Cherargei’s remarks came following Governor Sakaja’s sentiments that there are a few people misleading President William Ruto, by telling him not to engage the opposition.
Sakaja who made his remarks on Sunday, March 12 while reacting to Azimio protests stated that the economy is bad enough and demonstrations will further hurt Kenyans.

“There is nothing that can’t be sorted after talks… Let’s not plunge the country into a crisis. It is very easy to destroy but not build.” Governor Sakaja said.
“The economy is tough, and people are struggling and when we are picking up, I think it is time we talk and think of other ways because we are one country,” he added.
In addition, the Nairobi County boss noted that the head of state is a man full of wisdom and he will do the right thing.
