Comedian Eric Omondi has been arrested by Police officers in Nairobi County.
The comedian was arrested outside Parliament Building Nairobi where he was leading protests against the proposals in the Finance Bill 2024.
Omondi had gathered a crowd of women in front of the Parliament building where he was addressing them before being arrested.
In a video seen by The Kenya Times, Erick Omondi is seen leading the demonstrations with women and some men before police officers dispersed them.
However, the comedian who despite the arrest, adamantly shouted as he attempted to rally the protestors.
Eric Omondi Leads Protestors
While wearing an outfit resembling a police uniform, Omondi impersonated a police officer and attempted to quell the protestors using force.
Some of the protestors could be seen carrying placards written Finance Bill 2024 with an X mark passing across, while others of dubbed Mama Mboga Revolution.

Other placards read Wabunge nyinyi ni wasaliti (Lawmakers are traitors), who are allegedly planning to approve the Finance bill into law.
The protesters are also seen scattering leaves and twigs in front of the parliament gate and strewn twigs along the main road accessing the parliament building as they called out on the legislators.
Omondi while taking on his social media account posted the video with caption #SayNoToFinanceAct2024.
“We will not allow this Government to kill and suffocate Kenyans with the Finance ACT 2024!!! Kenyans are Suffering and dying in Hospitals without medicine while they tax us to Buy Cars, Houses and expensive Travels abroad,” he said.
Eric Omondi has on several occasions led protests outside parliament demanding audience with National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula and lawmakers.

On February 21, 2023, he was arrested among other protesters for attempting to forcibly access Parliament during cost-of-living protests.
Omondi had led a group of well-built men in protesting against the skyrocketing cost of living.
