Content creator, Hassan Mohamed Abdi died on Saturday, March 9, after a bodaboda rider allegedly stabbed him.
Kamukunji Member of Parliament (MP) Yusuf Hassan has announced the death of Abdi, raising concerns over lawlessness among some bodaboda riders.
According to the legislator, the 24-year-old media personality lost his life after a fatal stabbing by a Boda boda rider in Juja B Estate, Eastleigh.
In a statement on March,9,2024, the lawmaker conveyed his sympathies to the family and loved ones of the deceased.
“I am profoundly disturbed by the heinous murder of Hassan Muhumed Abdi, a 24-year-old content creator who tragically lost his life after being fatally stabbed by a Bodaboda rider in Juja B Estate, Eastleigh, earlier today,” shared MP Yusuf.
“This incident is a heartbreaking tragedy, and my thoughts are with the family and friends of Hassan Muhumed Abdi during this incredibly difficult time,”
He has further emphasized the need for immediate action to address the chaotic and lawless Bodaboda situation in the area.

“It is distressing to witness such senseless acts of violence, and it underscores the urgent need for intervention to prevent further loss of lives.”
The MP also expressed concern for Ilyaas Muhidin, who sustained serious injuries in the attack, and conveyed hopes for his swift recovery.
“My thoughts are with Ilyaas Muhidin, who sustained serious injuries, and I sincerely hope for his swift recovery,” the MP noted.

How Abdi Died
Reports indicated that Abdi differed with a rider at around midnight over fare, before the altercation degenerated into a fatal attack.
Consequently, chaos erupted between locals and riders.
Police from Pangani arrived to contain the situation but he was already dead.
They stated that Abdi died of deep stab wounds, on the neck.
“Hassan Muhumed Abdi a Somali male adult aged 24 years sustained a deep stab wound on the right-hand side of the neck and was rushed to Abyan hospital and later referred to Care hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival,” police report read in part.

According to local reports, incidents involving Bodaboda riders have been on the rise in Eastleigh.
“It is absolutely imperative that the county authorities intervene promptly to prevent further escalation and restore a semblance of order to the area,” the MP urged.
“Effective measures must be implemented to ensure the safety and security of residents and to prevent such senseless acts of violence from recurring in the future.”
