The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has summoned 39 directors and deputy directors in various departments of the Busia County Government.
The summoned directors are to appear before the EACC as of Monday 10, 2024 and the summons shall culminate on November 20.
In a letter by the commission dated October 30 posted in the socials, the directors were directed to appear in person before the Bungoma EACC officers to give details on how they were employed.
In addition, EACC has provided a comprehensive list of individuals as well as allocating each of them the specific time for hearing their cases.
“To facilitate the investigations, kindly inform the below-listed officers to avail themselves for interviews and statement recording at our offices located at Daima Plaza, 2nd floor in Bungoma town as per the schedule provided,” the EACC letter stated in part.

Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC)
The Commission under its Constitutional and Statutory mandate as set out under Article 252(1) (a) (d) of the Constitution, Section 11 of the EACC Act, 2011 and Section 4 (2) and 42 (10) of the Leadership and Integrity Act, 2012 is carrying out investigations on allegations of irregular recruitment of Directors and Deputy Directors by the County Public Service Board of Busia.
The summoning follows allegations of nepotism and corruption at the time of employment early this year.
Moreover, the EACC assured the individuals in question that their officers Geoffrey Oluoch and Eric Machu or any other authorized officer(s) will be available to receive them and record statements.
