Paris Lounge & Grill in Roysambu will not be closing permanently but will instead shut temporarily to pave the way for a new entertainment establishment at the same location.
The clarification follows earlier claims circulated on some media platforms that the popular nightclub was shutting down after five years in operation.
Management has since confirmed that the venue is transitioning to a new brand, which is currently being finalized, with the new club expected to take over the same premises along Mirema Drive.
In its earlier communication, Paris Lounge & Grill had shared an emotional farewell message describing its journey as “memorable days and nights through music, celebrations and being one big family together,” leading to widespread belief that it was closing completely.
However, the latest position indicates that the move marks the end of the Paris Lounge & Grill brand, rather than a complete shutdown of business.
Paris Lounge Transition
Paris Lounge & Grill had built a strong reputation as one of Roysambu’s most popular nightlife spots, attracting a loyal following from across Nairobi, especially along the Thika Road corridor.

For five years, the club established itself as a vibrant social hub, hosting themed parties, live performances and weekend events that drew crowds from surrounding estates such as Zimmerman and Mirema.
The farewell message, which described the closure as “the end of an unforgettable era,” had been widely interpreted as a final exit.
The club also hosted a “Final Curtain” all-white party during its last weekend, complete with a fireworks display, reinforcing the perception of a permanent shutdown.
However, the management now says the event marked the end of one phase of the brand, as the business prepares to relaunch under a new identity to keep pace with Nairobi’s evolving nightlife scene.
The upcoming transformation is expected to introduce a fresh concept to maintain relevance in Nairobi’s highly competitive nightlife scene, where venues often rebrand to keep pace with changing consumer tastes.
Kentwood Address To Undergo Revamp
At the same time, Kentwood Address, an upscale entertainment and lifestyle venue located in Runda, has also clarified that it is not shutting down.

According to the management, the establishment is undergoing renovations that will include a change in management and upgrades to its overall offering.
The renovations are expected to take about a month, during which some sections of the venue may be temporarily closed. However, the main bar remains operational, meaning the venue continues to serve customers even as improvements are underway.
Kentwood Address has built a niche as a premium destination known for hosting curated events and high-end social experiences, making its temporary revamp part of a broader strategy to refresh its brand.
With increasing competition, shifting customer preferences and evolving nightlife trends, many establishments are finding it necessary to adapt in order to remain attractive to patrons.
Nairobi Nightlife
Nairobi remains the leading nightlife hub in East Africa, increasingly competing with major African cities such as Lagos and Cape Town as a centre for urban entertainment and cultural expression.
Clubs and lounges are no longer relying solely on music and alcohol sales, but are instead focusing on curated events, branding and unique concepts to attract and retain customers. This includes themed parties, pop-up experiences, art and fashion collaborations, and hybrid cultural events.
Westlands continues to dominate as the primary nightlife district, attracting young professionals, expatriates and tourists with its concentration of clubs, international DJs and themed events.
At the same time, areas such as Kilimani and Ngong Road have emerged as alternative hubs, offering a more relaxed and upscale experience aimed at a slightly older, more affluent crowd.
