EPRA, in its monthly review report released on Wednesday, May 14, announced that the maximum allowed petroleum pump prices for Super Petrol, Diesel, and Kerosene will remain unchanged.

This means that a litre of Super Petrol in Nairobi will retail at Ksh174.63, Diesel at Ksh164.86 and Kerosene at Ksh148.99.

In Mombasa, Super Petrol will retail at Ksh171.39, Diesel at Ksh161.62, and Kerosene at Ksh145.75 while in Kisumu Super Petrol, Diesel and Kerosene will retail at Ksh174.67, Ksh165.24, and Ksh149.42 respectively.

Super Petrol, Diesel and Kerosene will retail at Ksh173.85, Ksh164.43, and Ksh148.61 in Nakuru, and Ksh174.67, Ksh165.25 and Ksh149.42 in Eldoret respectively.

“The prices are inclusive of the 16% Value Added Tax (VAT) in line with the provisions of the Finance Act 2023, the Tax Laws (Amendment) Act 2024 and the revised rates for excise duty adjusted for inflation as per Legal Notice No. 194 of 2020,”said EPRA.

According to the report, the average landed cost of imported Super Petrol decreased by 2.95% from US$606.06 per cubic metre in March 2025 to US$588.16 per cubic metre in April 2025.

The landed cost for Diesel decreased by 6.62% from $636.75 per cubic metre to $594.60 per cubic metre while Kerosene decreased by 4.52% from $628.22 per cubic metre to $599.84 per cubic metre over the same period.

The Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) had in its weekly bulletin on May 9 announced that international oil prices increased during the week, with Murban crude trading at $63.42 per barrel on May 8, up from $62.34 on April 30.

CBK said that this increase was driven by the easing of trade tensions between the United States and its main trading partners.

In its April report, EPRA had decreased the maximum allowed petroleum pump prices for Super Petrol, Diesel and Kerosene by Ksh1.95, Ksh2.20 and Ksh2.40 per litre respectively.
