Five high school students have been reported dead and others injured in an accident that occurred around 2 pm on Tuesday along the Nairobi-Nakuru highway.
The Mbihi Friends Girls High School students from Vihiga were traveling from Nakuru to Nairobi as part of a larger group in an 11-seater public service vehicle.
Reports indicated that the matatu driver reportedly collided with an oncoming lorry headed in the opposite direction as he tried to overtake along the stretch between Naivasha and Delamere.

The matatu driver then lost control and the vehicle rolled.
Five of the students died on the spot, while 7 others including the matatu driver are admitted at the Naivasha Level Four hospital after sustaining injuries.
The lorry occupants were not injured.
