Former Kenya Medical Practitioners Pharmacists and Dentists Union (KMPDU) Secretary General Dr. Ouma Oluga has strongly refuted remarks made by South Mugirango Member of Parliament Silvanus Osoro regarding the ongoing Gen Z-led ‘revolution
In a statement made on July 22, Dr. Oluga accused Osoro of belittling the genuine governance concerns raised by Gen Z protesters, dismissing their frustrations as mere “grumble 24/7.”
Dr. Oluga explained that the social anger driving these protests is rooted in serious issues that have been largely ignored by those in power.
“My brother Osoro, it is called social anger,” said Dr. Oluga.
“It is brought about by belittling genuine governance concerns as grumble 24/7 the way you are doing in this tweet.”

The former KMPDU boss went on to highlight the demand for justice for those killed during the protests as a prime example of the unresolved grievances fueling the Gen Z movement.
“It is worsened when you do not recognize the glaring issues put forth for solution like giving Justice to those who were killed right outside the tunnel you hid because you would rather hide than listen to them,” he said.
He urged Osoro to take these concerns seriously, warning that social anger is not just a political game but a force that can have far-reaching consequences for the nation.
“It continues to exist even when you’d want to wish it away as politics. Social anger is not politics where your opponents are challenging you for the sake of challenge.”
“This thing called social anger consumes countries. Take it seriously,” he warned.
Silvanus Osoro’s Statement ON Gen Zs
Dr. Oluga’s statement came after Silvanus Osoro took to Twitter on July 21 to express his views on the ongoing protests.
The UDA MP criticized the protesters for their negative outlook, arguing that they see no good in anyone other than themselves.
“We can’t be a grumble lot 24/7 that see no good, hear no good from any other person other than you! That you say no to dialogue, no to order, no to nominees!” wrote Osoro.
He called for dialogue, order, and respect for different opinions, stating that this is what democracy is all about.
“Others have opinion too and that is what we call democracy, Rais, you gave in. It is enough. Chapa kazi tujenge nchi,” he added.
Ruto Vows Action Against the Gen Z Protests
Moreover, Osoro’s remarks came after President William Ruto issued a stern warning to the protesters, vowing to stop the youth led movement which he termed as a “tyranny of anonymous, faceless, formless and sponsored people,”
Speaking on Sunday July 21 in Bomet County after attending a church service, Ruto told the Gen Zs that “enough was enough” noting that he would now protect the nation since he had given everyone a chance to air out their various views.

“I want to promise you that there will be no more protests, they are going to stop enough is enough,” he said while addressing a crowd,
“Going forward we will protect the country, we will protect life and property, we will stop looters, mayhem and anarchy because Kenya is a democracy, and we want a peaceful stable country. Our issues will be resolved using democratic means,”
