Four police officers have been charged with the murder of a man who was supposedly the mastermind behind Ksh.72 million robbed from a Standard Chartered Bank ATM in Nairobi.
The police officers named, Joseph Ojode Obambo, Henry Mutai, Bashir Ali and Charles Kirimi were arraigned in court on Tuesday, June 7 and charged with one count of murder.
The police officers allegedly killed Wycliffe Owuor on March 24, 2020 at Kayole Junction within Nairobi County.
The four officers pleaded not guilty and are currently remanded at Nairobi Remand Home. Moreover, the officers have applied to be released on bond awaiting hearing and determination of their case.
The case will be heard on the 17th and 18th of August 2022, whereas the mention has been set for June 21, 2022.
Furthermore, the deceased suspect upon his death had been out on a bond of Ksh. 500,000 following his arrest and subsequent arraignment over the robbery incident.
