The Ministry of Education (MoE) has released the official 2025 academic school calendar, detailing term dates, holidays, and national examinations for primary and secondary schools.
In the circular issued on Thursday, November 28, all schools are set to reopen for the first term on January 6, 2025.
The first term will run for 13 weeks and schools will thereafter close on April 4.
Students will then proceed for half-term break for five days, from February 26 to March 2.
2025 School Calendar
Following that, they will resume studies and thereafter proceed to the first-term holiday from April 7 to April 25, a period of three weeks.
Education Principal Secretary Belio Kipsang confirmed that the second term for the 2025 academic year will commence on April 28.
During this term, students will study for 14 weeks before proceeding to the second-term holiday, which is scheduled to begin on August 1, 2025.

The August holiday will then run from August 4 to August 22 before schools reopening for the third and final term.
Third term will start on August 25, and will run for nine weeks, closing on October 24.
