Govt Issues Flying Licenses to 16 Airlines

Kenya Civil Aviation Approves 16 Airlines to Operate in Kenya

The Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) has granted approvals and variations for several air service licenses, reflecting a mix of domestic and international operations.

These decisions, outlined in a Gazette Notice dated March 1, 2024, signify the authority’s commitment to fostering a dynamic aviation landscape.

HiSky Europe S.R.L:

HiSky Europe S.R.L has secured a license for Inclusive Tour Charters, specifically for the route Bucharest–Zanzibar–Mombasa–Bucharest.

With a fleet featuring A321 and A320 aircraft based in Bucharest, Romania, the license, valid for one year starting January 30, 2024, excludes traffic rights on the Zanzibar–Mombasa sector.

Polskie Linie Lotnicze LOT S.A.:

Polskie Linie Lotnicze LOT S.A. has been granted approval for Inclusive Tour Charters on the Prague–Mombasa–Prague route.

Operating a B788 aircraft based in Prague, Czech Republic, the license is valid for one year, commencing on January 30, 2024.

Safari Plus Limited:

Safari Plus Limited has received the green light for two services:

1. International non-scheduled air service for passengers, cargo, and mail between designated entry/exit points in Tanzania and Kenya.

2. International non-scheduled emergency medical air service between designated entry/exit points in Tanzania and Kenya.

Utilizing B190 and B350 aircraft based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, the license is effective for one year starting January 30, 2024.

Enter Air Sp. Z.O.O.:

Enter Air Sp. Z.O.O. has obtained a variation of its existing air service license, adding routes:

1. Katowice–Hurghada–Mombasa–Hurghada–Katowice (1 frequency per week).

2. Wroclaw–Hurghada–Mombasa–Hurghada–Wroclaw (2 frequencies per week).

The variation, excluding traffic rights on the Hurghada–Mombasa–Hurghada sector, aligns with the period of validity of the existing license.

Renegade Air Limited:

Renegade Air Limited has successfully varied its existing air service license to include the aircraft type AT72, aligning with the period of validity of the current license.

Safari Express Cargo Limited:

Safari Express Cargo Limited has been granted an international scheduled air service license for cargo and mail on multiple routes.

With F27 and B747 aircraft based at JKIA, the license is effective for one year starting November 23, 2023.

Kenya Civil Aviation Authority Licences Dalmar Air Limited

Dalmar Air Limited now holds a license for:

1. International non-scheduled air service for passengers, cargo, and mail to/from points in Africa and the rest of the world.

2. Domestic non-scheduled air service for passengers, cargo, and mail within Kenya.

Operated with JS32 aircraft based at JKIA and Wilson Airport, the license is valid for one year, starting May 18, 2024.

Airvan Kenya Limited:

Airvan Kenya Limited’s license covers:

1. International non-scheduled air service for passengers, cargo, and mail to/from points in Africa.

2. Domestic non-scheduled air service for passengers, cargo, and mail within Kenya.

The C208 aircraft-based operation at Wilson Airport is approved for one year, beginning January 30, 2024.

Farmland Aviation Limited:

Farmland Aviation Limited has secured a license for aerial work services, including agricultural spraying/seeding/dusting and fire spotting/control/fighting.

With AT602, AT504, and S2R aircraft based at Soysambu, Elementaita, the licence is valid for three years from December 17, 2023.

Nairobi Flight Training Limited:

Nairobi Flight Training Limited has received a license for flying instructions within Kenya, using the C172 aircraft based at Wilson Airport and Nanyuki Civil Airstrip.

The license is valid for three years starting November 28, 2023.

Helicopter Charter (EA) Limited:

Helicopter Charter (EA) Limited has secured approval for both international and domestic non-scheduled air services.

With R44 and R66 aircraft based at Wilson Airport, the licenses are valid for one year and three years, respectively, starting January 14, 2024.

Airborne African Antics Limited:

Airborne African Antics Limited has been granted a license for domestic non-scheduled air services for passengers within Kenya.

Operating hot air balloon types, including Cameron A450, Cameron Z350, Cameron A315, Colt 105A, and Lindstrand LTLS1-425, the license is valid for three years from January 26, 2024.

Ribway Cargo Airlines Limited:

Ribway Cargo Airlines Limited has obtained approval for both domestic and international non-scheduled air services.

The license covers passenger and cargo operations within Kenya and to/from points in Africa, utilizing DC8 and PA34 aircraft based at various locations, including J.K.I.A., Mombasa, Malindi, Wilson Airport, and Ukunda.

The license is valid for one year starting January 30, 2024, without aircraft type DC8.

Jubba Airways Limited:

Jubba Airways Limited has received approval for both international and domestic scheduled air services.

The international routes include destinations such as Hargeisa, Mogadishu, Dubai, Djibouti, Jeddah, Yemen, Sharjah, Entebbe, and more.

Domestic routes cover connections like JKIA–Mombasa–J.K.I.A., and JKIA to/from Kisumu/Eldoret.

Operating F50 aircraft based at JKIA, the license is valid for three years from February 12, 2024, for international routes (excluding Dubai, Jeddah, Yemen, and Sharjah) and one year for domestic routes.

Kenya Civil Aviation Authority Licences Peakwing Aviation Limited:

Peakwing Aviation Limited has secured a license for a diverse range of services including.

1. International non-scheduled air service for passengers, cargo, and mail to/from points in Africa and the rest of the world.

2. Domestic non-scheduled air service for passengers, cargo, and mail within Kenya.

3. Aerial work service for advertising operations within Kenya.

4. Aerial work service for aerial patrol/observation/surveys within Kenya.

5. Aerial work service for aerial photography/sightseeing within Kenya.

The operations, conducted with H130 aircraft based at Wilson Airport, are approved for one year, starting January 30, 2024.

African Wild Wind Limited:

African Wild Wind Limited has been granted a license for domestic non-scheduled air services for passengers within prominent Kenyan destinations such as the Maasai Mara, Amboseli National Park and Kimana Sanctuary among others.

The operations, utilizing hot air balloon type Kubicek BB120P, are based at Olkiombo, Kimana Sanctuary, Ol Jogi Conservancy, Lewa Conservancy, and Kigio Conservancy.

The license is valid for one year, starting January 30, 2024.

These decisions aim to facilitate a diverse range of air services, contributing to both domestic connectivity and international linkages.
