Statehouse Spokesperson Hussein Mohamed has dismissed reports which have been discrediting President William Ruto’s development tours.
Hussein spoke after netizens raised alarm over pictures of one woman being featured in multiple locations with the head of state.
In a statement made on Monday August 19, the statehouse spokesperson called out netizens pushing the narrative and clarified that the woman was not at multiple locations as reports suggest.
“Do not mislead Kenyans. It’s not true that same woman was at different locations of the President’s development tours,” he said.
To back his claims, Hussein shared a poster detailing the president’s activities during the visit and his interaction with the woman identified as Mama Moraa.

Mohammed noted that the President visited their home after the Rural Electrification and Renewable Energy Corporation (REREC) upgraded their posho mill by installing an electric motor.
“In Kisii, President William Ruto is in Bonchari Constituency, with the family of Mr. William and Ruth Moraa on 13/8/24 after REREC upgraded their posho mill by installing an electric motor,” he explained.
Hussein shared several photos from the visit, including the family having breakfast, Ruto inspecting Mama Moraa’s posho meal, and a family photo with the president.
He emphasized that the woman in question was not present in Embu but rather the pictures were from the Kisii Visit.
“Same homestead; different photos; having breakfast, Mama Moraa’s posho meal & family photo. She was not in Embu,” he said.

Shedding light on the Embu visit, Hussein explained that on August 7, President Ruto visited the family of Mama Lydia and not Mama Moraa (the woman in question) as netizen reports claim.
He explained that the visit was made during the commissioning of the Last Mile Projects in Mbeere North at Cianthia village.
“The project serves 171 households, Cianthia Primary School, and Cianthia Secondary School,” read the statement.
