The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission has suspended elections of members of the county assembly (MCA) in four wards following the deaths of some candidates

“IEBC suspends the election in the four wards owing to the death of candidates listed, and we shall communicate vide a Gazette Notice when the said elections will be conducted,” Commission chairperson Wafula Chebukati said in a Gazette Notice dated July 26.
The affected include areas include Thaana in Mwingi West of kitui constituency, Oloimasani in Emurua Dikir ,South Gem ward in Gem, and Utawala ward in Embakasi East constituency.

At the same time IEBC says it will be issuing daily updates to the nation before the election day.
This after the national election communication center was set up at Bomas of Kenya

IEBC chief executive officer Marjan Hussein says that the move will bridge any communication gaps between the commission and Kenyans
The center will also be used to monitor and counter any misleading and fake information on social and main stream media
The commission has called on Kenyans to disregard any information not coming from official channels being managed by its staff.
