Award winning actress Catherine Karanja, commonly known as Kate Actress, and popular Tahidi High actor and producer Philip Karanja have announced their separation.
In a joint statement posted on social media by Catherine on Tuesday, September 19, the couple said that the matter was not a secret but had been kept private.
Additionally, she stated that the marriage had ended a long time ago and the couple had already separated.
The couple asked their fans and members of the public to respect their wishes and allow them to go through the process.
“We came to a conclusion to end our marriage a long time ago and separated. We sincerely request everyone to honor our wishes for privacy for us and our marriage.
“It was never a secret, we just kept it private. To all our dear fans, thank you very much for the support over the years,” Catherine Karanja stated.
Philip Karanja further confirmed the news adding that the announcement was meant to help them move on with their lives without a lot of speculation from the public.
“Kate and I remain as friends, co parents and business partners,” stated Philip Karanja.

Kate’s Relationship Trouble Rumors
In June 2023, rumors of their separation had started spreading on social media. Kenyans raised questions after they realized that the actress had deleted photos of Philip Karanja from her Instagram account.
According to her fans, that was already a sign of relationship troubles. Some concluded that the actress may have just been taking a turn on the kind of content she posted online to allow her to focus on growing her career.

Kate’s Wedding and Marriage
The two have been married for over five years. The couple exchanged vows at the Windsor Golf Hotel and Country Club in November 2017.
They have a daughter together and were raising Kate’s son from a previous relationship.
Kate Actress is a well-known figure in Kenya, having won several awards for her roles in local television shows and movies. She is also a mother of two and has been open about her struggles with motherhood and balancing her career with family life.
