Kenya Airways has announced possible disruptions of flights ahead of the upcoming festive season.
In a statement on Friday, December 8, the company announced that it was anticipating disruptions in the coming weeks mainly due to challenges in the global supply chain of aircraft spare parts.
According to the statement, the national flag carrier was experiencing delays in accessing spare parts and in turn leading to extended ground time for its aircraft.
The disruptions, according to Kenya Airways, are expected to persist for approximately two weeks.
“These challenges are leading to an extended ground time of our aircraft for maintenance,” the KQ statement read in part.
“This may also lead to grounding of one or more aircraft in line with our commitment to the highest level for safety and reliability of our operations.”
