Kenyans are set to benefit from one million job opportunities announced by President Xi Jinping of China.
While addressing delegates from more than 50 African nations in China, Jinping committed to creating over 1 million jobs across Africa, as China aims to shift its focus from large-scale infrastructure projects to promoting advanced and green technologies.
Further, he said that China would carry out 30 infrastructure projects across Africa.
In addition, the President pledged Ksh6.5 trillion ($51 billion) in funding to developing nations.
The move will present Kenya with opportunities for job creation, infrastructure development, and access to sustainable technologies that align with President William Ruto’s economic and environmental plans.

Other Promises Made by China President
On the other hand, President Xi Jinping said that China is ready to launch 30 clean energy projects in Africa.
Also, China has offered to cooperate on nuclear technology and tackle a power deficit that has delayed industrialization efforts in Africa.
“China is ready to deepen cooperation with Africa in industry, agriculture, infrastructure, trade and investment,
“We are ready to assist in the development of the African Continental Free Trade Area and deepen logistics and financial cooperation for the benefit of trans-regional development in Africa,” said Xi Jinping.

Kenyans Get Deals from China
On Tuesday, September 3, Kenya officially became a fully paid member of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB).
Ruto stated that the government intends to utilize this membership to finance infrastructure development, climate change initiatives, connectivity, and various tech projects.
“Kenya has now formally joined the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) as a fully paid member,”
“The membership will enable Kenya to access concessional funding for infrastructure, climate change efforts, connectivity, regional cooperation, and technology-enabled projects and programs,” stated Ruto.
On the other hand, Ruto held talks with President Xi Jinping at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, China, ahead of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) summit.
During the meeting, President Xi agreed to give Kenya’s agricultural produce access to the Chinese market.
