The National Police Service (NPS) has issued a warning to the public regarding fake accounts claiming to represent Rosemary Kuraru, the Director of Human Capital Development-NPS.
In a statement released on August 4, the NPS highlighted that these accounts are operated by imposters aiming to defraud unsuspecting individuals.
“Disclaimer…!!! We wish to caution the public against interacting with multiple fake accounts purporting to belong to The Director Human Capital Development-NPS Madam Rosemary Kuraru,” read the statement.
“The existing accounts are maintained by imposters with criminal intent to defraud unsuspecting Kenyans.”
Additionally, the police clarified that Madam Kuraru does not have any social media profiles.
Kenyans Urged to Report These Fake Accounts
“Please note that Director Human Capital Development-NPS Madam Rosemary Kuraru, does not operate any social media account.”
As a result, the NPD advised the public to consider any posts from these accounts as malicious and report them promptly to the authorities.

“Members of the public are urged to treat these posts as malicious and fake. Kindly report these links, ” said NPS.
A spot check by The Kenya Times established that there was an unverified page with 4.1k followers operating under the Director’s name.
The account flagged by NPS has made several posts highlighting the day-to-day duties of Rosemary Kuraru. However, the account’s bio section does not indicate when the page was created, but the first post was made on April 6, 2024.
NPS Warns of Fake Accounts Impersonating Douglas Kanja
This warning comes months after the NPS issued a similar warning to members of the public over fake Facebook accounts impersonating the then Deputy Inspector General Douglas Kanja.
In a statement issued on March 20, NPS clarified that the Facebook accounts do not belong to Kanja and should be disregarded.

“We wish to caution the public against interacting with multiple fake accounts purporting to belong to the DIG-KPS Douglas Kanja,” the statement read in part.
In the statement NPS also highlighted that the existing accounts are operated by imposters with intent to defraud unsuspecting citizens.
“Members of the public are urged to treat these posts as malicious and fake. Please note that DIG-KPS Mr. Kanja does not operate any social media account,” read the statement.
Also, NPS urged the public to report the fake accounts to Meta management for further account.
