King Charles III and Queen Camila’s four-day state visit to Kenya has kicked off after they duo landed at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport on the night of Monday, October 30.
Similarly, according to Governor Johnson Sakaja , Nairobi residents should brace for traffic interruptions during the Monarch four-day state visit to Kenya.
While addressing the press on Monday, October 30, Governor Johnson Sakaja confirmed that Nairobi County was ready to hist the royals.
However, Sakaja highlighted the possibility of a minimal traffic interruption in the city because of events lined-up for the King and Queen while in Nairobi.
Further Sakaja noted the display of Matwana culture will be visible through the routes of entourage as High Commissions vans were painted before the royals arrived.
“The traffic interruptions will be minimal because of the route of entrouge, you will see Nairobi culture being displayed as part of the entrouge will be the High Commissions vans which have been painted to show matatu culture,” said the governor.

King Charles Visit to Makadara
On Tuesday, the King and Queen will visit State House where President William Ruto will welcome them officially in the country.
The royals will then travel to Eastlands Library in Makadara constituency using Jogoo Road.
Hence traffic disruption will be expected along Bunyala Road, Jogoo Road all the way to Eastlands where the library is located.
Consequently, key roads that Eastlands to Jogoo Road could be affected. These include Outer Ring Road and the Thika Superhighway.
Worth noting, the MacMillian Library which the Mornach is visiting was started in the build-up to the 2007 General Election by Angela Wachuka who had visited Kenya from London.
However, when violence broke out in December of that year, she decided to stay. Back north, Ms Wachuka had met and become quick friends with the late Binyavanga Wainaina, one of Kenya’s most celebrated authors.
Likewise, the Monarch will then travel to Westlands and take a tour of Nairobi Garage. The royals are likely to use the Nairobi Expressway hence Westland areas are expected to experience minimal traffic interruptions.
Langa’ta Road Traffic Interruption
Afterwards the Royals will go their separate ways. The Queen will head to Uhuru Gardens along Langa’ta Road.

Langata Road is therefore expected to experience traffic disruption later in the day.
On the other part, King Charles III together with President Ruto will visit City Shamba, an urban agricultural business that builds city gardens appropriate for small spaces in Kibra.
As a result, major roads leading to Kibra are likely to experience traffic disruption, including Ngong Road.
Later in the evening the King and Queen will be hosted by the Head of State at a banquet at the State House.
Roads leading to the State House will experience some traffic interruptions.
