Kisa East MCA Stephen Maloba passed after being caught in a scuffle with individuals believed to be linked to Khwisero MP Christopher Aseka. The incident occurred during a public meeting, and Maloba’s stab injuries proved fatal.
Confirming the tragic news, Kakamega county leaders, including Governor Fernandez Barasa, expressed their condolences to the bereaved family. Khwisero OCPD Samuel Kogo disclosed that the authorities are actively searching for the suspected assailants, but the motive behind the attack is still unknown.

Maloba, elected on a KANU ticket, died following a confrontation between supporters of the two political camps. Kakamega deputy governor Ayub Savula announced the MCA’s death during a public event in the area, where he expressed regret at the unfortunate incident.
Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale weighed in on the matter, attributing the MCA’s death to political indifference. However, he did not provide details on the altercation that led to Maloba’s untimely death.
