KNEC Announces Opportunities for Teachers: How to Apply

The Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) has announced a training exercise for examiners for the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations.

In a statement on Tuesday, July 2, KNEC stated that the training will take place between 18th and 24th August 2024. 

The council stated that successful applicants will be notified through an SMS with details of the portal on how to make the payments.

Additionally, teachers participating in the exercise will be required to pay a training fee of Ksh10,500 and the venue will be communicated after payment is done.

KNEC also noted that teachers who have already been trained as KCSE examiners and are in their database do not need to apply for this training session.

KNEC Announces Vacancies

Additionally, KNEC outlined qualifications of teachers who are eligible to apply and train as examiners which include:

1 Must be a practicing teacher in the relevant subject areas at the level of examination and must be registered and/or employed by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).

2 Must have a Diploma in Education (and above)
3 Have a minimum teaching experience of three (3) years.
4 Must NOT be on interdiction or any other form of disciplinary action by the TSC

5 Must be recommended by his/her head of institution and must be 50 years of age and below.

How to Apply

Qualified applicants are required to follow these steps to successfully, apply for the vacancies:

• Access the KNEC examiners portal using the link https://knec.ac.ke.
• Those with Cp2 accounts are advised to log into the portal using their username and password.
• Those without Cp2 accounts should click on create account and follow the instructions to acquire the login credentials.

• Applicants should then complete their personal profile and save. On the dashboard, click on apply training and all the declared vacancies will be available for the applicants to choose.

According to the Ministry of Education, the KCSE 2024 will run from October and the examinations will run up to 22nd November ,2024.
