The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has asked parents and guardians whose children are sitting national tests in 2024 to ensure that they are registered with the March 29 deadline fast approaching.
In particular, KNEC asked them to ensure that they beat the deadline for the Kenya Primary Schools Assessment (KPSEA) and Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) 2024 registration.
Through a notice released on Friday, March 22, the council was categorical that it will not extend the deadline once it elapses.
“Are you a parent/ guardian of a candidate sitting KPSEA or KCSE in 2024? Have you confirmed if your child has been registered and their data accurately captured?” read the statement in part.
The council also directed individuals to ensure that all eligible candidates have confirmed their registration for their will be no other chance for revision.
“There will be no extension of the deadline and requests for the late registration will not be honored,” the council notified.
KNEC Urges Individuals to Confirm Their Details
KNEC further notified KCSE candidates to ensure that their passport photos are of correct sizes for their will be no room for replacement.

“There will be no room for change of photographs for KCSE candidates after the closure of the registration period,” the council notified.
Further, the examination council has urged guardians to visit their children’s school to ensure that the candidates are registered with correct details captured.
Onset For Registration
KNEC opened the registration for national exams on January 29, 2024, and notified institutions heads.
In a notice, the council advised teachers to ensure all candidates are successfully registered within the period, warning that the registration window will not be extended.

“Avoid last minute rush and register all your candidates now. The dates must be adhered to since there will be no late registration of candidates,” the notice read.
In relation to the previous notice, the registration of different school level exams is ongoing through the KNEC portals assigned to each examination level on the website.
“All examinations centers are expected to log onto a portal for specific examination and entre the candidates’ detail using the school registration password on the KNEC website,” the council directed.
KPSEA exams are set to begin on October 28 to October 31, 2024, while KCSE exams are set to start from November 4 to November 22, 2024.
