The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has released results for six teacher education assessment and examination categories for the 2023 and 2025 cohorts.
In an announcement dated October 15, KNEC said it had released and dispatched the results to colleges and advised candidates who sat the assessments and examinations to obtain them from their respective institutions.
The released results cover the Diploma in Primary Teacher Education (DPTE), Diploma in Secondary Teacher Education (DSTE) and Diploma in Early Childhood Teacher Education (DECTE) for the 2023 cohort.
They also include the Diploma in Teacher Education (DTE), Diploma in Special Needs Education (DSNE) Parts I and II, and the Teacher Certificate in Adult Education (TCAE) for the 2025 cohort.
However, candidates from colleges with outstanding assessment and examination fee balances may not immediately access their results.
KNEC explained it had notified the affected colleges and advised them to settle their arrears to facilitate the release of the withheld results.
“Results for colleges with outstanding assessment and examination fee balances have been withheld pending settlement of the arrears. The affected colleges have been notified and advised to clear the balances to facilitate the release of their results,” KNEC directed.

How Colleges Can Check KNEC Teacher Examination Results Online
Teacher training colleges can access the KNEC Teacher Education Assessment System through the official TECBA portal https://tecba.knec.ac.ke/.
Institutions checking the results must enter the college credentials and use the username and password assigned to the institution by KNEC.
Upon successful Login to the system, the institutions should submit the credentials to access the available teacher education assessment services.
Check the available results or assessment records for the applicable course and examination cohort and verify the records against the college’s candidate register before informing trainees that their results are ready for collection.
Once the college confirms and makes the results available, inform the affected trainees how and when to collect them.
If the results do not appear after logging in, the college should confirm whether KNEC has released the results and whether any outstanding assessment or examination fees are preventing their release.
Where the results remain unavailable, the college should contact KNEC through its official communication channels for clarification.
Candidates should contact their respective teacher training colleges after the institution confirms that the results are available.
After collecting their results, candidates should confirm that their examination details are correct and retain the official document.
Candidates who have completed their programs should also contact their institutions for information on certification, graduation, and certificate collection.
