Ugandan Microfinance State Minister Haruna Kasolo has called on the government to pass a law under which lazy poor Ugandans will receive strokes to become rich.
On Tuesday November 14, the state minister highlighted the urgency of pushing Ugandans into wealth acquisition while addressing Muslim members of Kayunga District in Uganda.
“In future the government could pass a law in parliament whereby all the lazy poor people will be given strokes so they can also learn to worker hard and become rich because we have learned that some Ugandans need to be pushed into wealth acquisition,” said Kasolo.
Kasolo argued that President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has initiated poverty eradication programs to make all Ugandans rich, but many were not following the programs keenly.
Ugandans Punishment to Poor people
According to the minister some Ugandans are “still adamant and have remained poor” and a legislation should have the lazy-poor people be given strokes to learn to work and become rich.

“President Museveni and the NRM government have put in place poverty eradication programs like Emyoga Parish Development Model, Bonna bagagagwale and others with the intention of making sure all Ugandans become rich, but many are still adamant and remained poor,” said Kasolo.
Recently President Museveni ordered nomadic pastoralists, often referred to as Balaalo, to leave northern Uganda if they cannot abide by the law of fencing their territories.

“Those who have cows in non-fenced areas must go immediately because this is recklessness. Why should you bring cows in an area where you have no control,” Museveni said.
The President who had at that time visited Amaru District issued a directive to the Minister for Nothern Uganda to evict all the Balaalo with unfenced territories.
” I directed the UPDF Division Commander, RPC and the Minister for Northern Uganda to ensure that anybody with cows in an unfenced area in the Acholi, Lango and West Nile sub-regions to leave immediately but in any case, not later than 3 weeks from today,” he said.
He also ordered that anybody occupying government land should leave with immediate effect but in any case, not later than 3 weeks from the day he made his statement.
Museveni has ruled Uganda since 1986.
